September 17, The Ranches, Golf Tournament is coming along GREAT! Thanks to everyone who has signed up. The Ranches suggested that with the support and interest we have had we do two starts, one at 8:00 and one at 2:00. We are sticking with the 8:00 a.m. only and we are pretty much at capacity and ready for a great time. I say this so that anyone that is interested in coming to our Casino Night on October 11 at the Salt Palace purchase their tickets. Don't let your chances slip away to attend Casino Night on October 11. PURCHASE your tickets on Soccerunitesutah.com and purchase through Paypal. We will soon be offering a Paypal link to sign up for our Texas Hold Em tournament as well. And, details for the Juan Diego Judge girl's soccer fundraiser will be up very soon as well. That will be held at Juan Diego High School and will cost $5.00 per ticket. Both Judge and Juan Diego soccer teams have tickets to be sold.
One last thing, Julie is right, what Mehdi did was AMAZING! If you look at the picture of holding his $100 worth of tickets, and see the excitement when he won, you will see he really did want the WII. They are very hard to find. When he came up and told Seth what he was doing it was SO cool, the customers all started clapping, and then Seth and Kevin became auctioneers. So many talents Seth, wow you just don't stop do you. lol
Well, off to working again, just posted the new golf foursomes and wanted to let you know that we are full. Thanks to everyone I look So forward to seeing all of you there. Thanks to our company Harper Concrete, Inc. for making this happen with their sponsorship.

Denver - Fundraiser
Well, yes we are back safe, and how much fun we had, I mean, wow we worked SO HARD haha! What an amazing event. Noel and Wendy, owners of the Celtic Tavern and Delaney's were probably some of the most genuine people I think I have ever met in my life. They donated, they helped, they were just the kind of people you wish you could meet everyday. Kevin, and Optimal Frequency, for donating your time, THANKS! You guys are SO good. We really do want you to come to SLC. Seth, loved to see you up on stage again! Thanks for your HUGE effort and all the work you put into this, it paid off. Oh, and for making me laugh as you had the CO player's totally jammin, AWESOME! To Mr. and Mrs. Trembly, you did it right! Seth has grown up with the two of you as his example, and just like you fostering and giving homes to so many kids that never would have had one, he too finds a way to make a difference!
Now, the Colorado Rapids, I know as Real Salt Fans we refer to them as the "Crapids" but let me tell you, the geneousity, and sincerety that was shown by the player's of this team was SO SO cool! This rival team had individuals that donated money, purchased donation tickets, (thanks Mehdi, and Christian for the cash donations you made), players donated their jerseys, their own time to golf, or train, they totally helped our event be a success, That truly is the meaning of friendship and I KNOW Andy and Marcia are very very thankful. I hope that when the group of 20 that purchased the suite, THAT THE RAPID'S FRONT OFFICE DONATED, THANK YOU, go to the game on October 25, that you give that team a standing ovation. Not for being a team, but for being great individuals!
To Laura, Jen, Julie and Madi, my Utah volunteers, I could not have done it without you. It was so funny, we walked into Delaney's and Seth was waiting, a bit nervous, and we just took over! This team had the auction in order and signs printed and up in a matter of a few hours. Still not exactly sure how Madi passed for 21, and I now know never to let her out of my site again after watching men hit on her all night long! haha again everyone THANKS! take a look at the great pictures Julie took for us, hopefully you can share in the event with us.
REMEMBER, it can now be your turn, we have the golf tournament, Juan Diego vs Judge Girl's event, and CASINO NIGHT. Let's come together Utah and create success! Plus you make alot of great friends!
Thanks to all... Love ya, Deb

DENVER - SETH TREMBLY - CO RAPIDS
Well, here I am in Denver. Can I tell you Seth has worked his butt off! We have the greatest items here, and Delaney's owners have gone out of their way to be AMAZING! I am sitting back in the silent auction room (watching the RSL game on my computer fearing for my life, haha) and just looking around in amazement. I called Marcia, and if I could have reached Andy I would have (in Jamicia). The love and the prayers that are coming from SO many people are just incredible. To think that the CO Rapids players have donated their time to play golf, or train with fans for Andy and Marcia is the true meaning of friendship. So, I just wanted to put up a quick note to say, WE ARE READY! It looks great, the band is here, Optimal Frequency, one the bests bands in Denver by the way, again thanks to Seth and to Optimal Frequency! We are ready to make some money. The Rapids' will be coming around 9:00 and the party begins. So, be sure to come back tomorrow for an update I can't wait to tell you all about it. Don't forget you can bid on these items, such as Pablo's 2004 World Cup Jersey signed by the team, or a CO Rapids suite for 20 people for the RSL vs CO on October 25. Bid by sending an email to soccerunites@aol.com and then you can pay if you win thru our Paypal on the account. To everyone, thanks! We will succeed with people like Seth, RSL, Rapids, and people who love the Williams! Marcia, if you are reading this, tell my Lexilou and Shai hi and I love them too. And, stay strong. Andy, can't wait to see back home safe, things are going to be OK! Love you both.

Personal Note From Seth Trembly
Person Note from Seth Trembly
As you watched Saturday’s game, Rapids vs RSL, you saw Andy Williams #77, the Jamaican National, help his side secure victory against the Rapids recording his second game winning assist this season. What you did not know is that Andy Williams #77 is playing with a heavy heart.
Andy Williams has faced many uphill battles in his long and storied career, but none as tough as the battle that he has currently been faced with. His wife Marcia has been diagnosed with a rare form of Leukemia that will require chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant. Although Andy is insured, the out of pocket expense they are faced with will top $150,000.00
What you don't know is off the field Major League Soccer is a small social circle and guys that have played together either on MLS teams, National Teams, or College Teams. I became good friends with Andy from our time on the field together at RSL. After spending the 2006 season looking down at the field due to ACL surgery, I became great friends with the wives and families of the RSL team. Marcia was always the first one to say “hi” and give me a kiss on the cheek. She always had this endearing look letting me know she understood how bad I felt not being able to be down on the field playing. I felt like an older brother as I teased and made funny faces at their two daughters Shaiann (14) and Alexia (5). When I heard about the struggles they are now facing I knew I had to help anyway I could.
And this is where the beauty of how Soccer Unites begins…
I decided to put together a fundraiser with live music and a silent auction, but where to begin? First I needed somewhere to hold the event. One place came to mind. I hit up my old friend Noel who is one of the owners of Delaney's and the Celtic Tavern. I had met Noel from my days as a Rapids player when they hosted the Post Match Parties. He eagerly jumped on board telling me he would host the event at Delaney's and would assist me in putting the event together. Noel related to me how seven years ago the tragic deaths of his two sons made him start a Charity Golf Tournament and how it had grown over the years from raising $2,000 the first year to over $30,000 this year for the Children's Hospital. His help and support is something that I will never forget.
Next, I called Kevin Eady a friend that I grew up playing club soccer who is now a member of one of the best rock bands in Denver, Optimal Frequency. I told him about the event and asked if their band would donate a Saturday night and play the event for free? Without a second of hesitation they said yes.
Since then many people have donated items for the auction and their time to help a family more than 500 miles away. Former teammates of Andy’s, and current Rapid’s Pablo Mastroeni, Mike Petke, and Mehdi Ballouchy, as well as other players from the team have been a tremendous help offering to help by hosting the event and donating their time and items for the silent auction.
It is times like this that make you reflect on the power of the sport of soccer. Two teams that are bitter Rocky Mountain Rivals on the field, two groups of fans that support their teams with such great intensity are able to come together to show true compassion for one another. Friends that are united through soccer, and times such as these, are friends that last a lifetime. I can honestly say, “Soccer is truly a sport that UNITES”.
